Company Interview on SHARP Designation

This company has an exemplary safety and health program and illness and injury rate. How did you do it?

I give all credit to employees for their attention to detail and true drive to make this a safer work environment. We could spend a great deal of time and money on equipment, procedures, etc., but if not for the will of the employees, it would be wasted.

What has Tech's value been in the process? Are there any differences that they noticed before Tech, and with Tech involvement?

A separate set of eyes and ears, and the knowledge that comes from seeing many different facilities and operations. This enables Tech to provide both best practices and lessons learned that prevent us from making mistakes that we might have made if not for their assistance.

What does the SHARP designation mean to you, your employees and the company?

To some extent, justification for all of our emphasis on safety--a tangible reward. It also puts us in an elite class that gives management and employees pride in our achievement.
