Experience Summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute: Research Associate II

As a consultant in the safety engineering branch Jim has analyzed data from companies and organizations to determine solutions to problems, such as the installation of alternative procedures, changes in processing methods, or modifications of equipment. Jim is also an instructor for the OSHA Training Institute for courses in both General Industry and Construction safety and has been a guest speaker at numerous seminars and conventions. In addition to his work in the safety field, Jim has also worked in the area of Emergency Response and Homeland Security.

CableCom, Inc: Loss Control Manager

Responsible for all facets of Loss Control within the Eastern Region with revenues of $50 million annually. Jim oversaw multiple projects with multiple direct reports, and over 300 employees and subcontractors. Successfully led change through the implementation of new and innovative processes and technologies. Planned, implemented, and coordinated programs to reduce and eliminate financial losses resulting from occupational injuries, and other work related occurrences. Developed accident prevention, loss control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies and procedures. Responsible for the interpretation and implementation of human resource laws/ regulations.

Commissioned December 1992 NROTC University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Evaluated high risk training and assisted in the instruction of high-risk training both within the ROTC program and while assigned to Naval Aviation Water Survival. Selected for Naval Flight School.
