Experience Summary

Work at Georgia Tech has involved consulting with small businesses in the state of Georgia to improve safety in the workplace and bring these businesses into compliance with current OSHA regulations. Has been responsible for Occupational Safety, Ergonomics, Environmental and Workers Compensation programs for past employers. Has implemented various ergonomics initiatives for employers including a written ergonomics program, lifting guide, and ergonomic response groups. Consulted with manufacturing engineers about various safety and ergonomics issues at the facilities. Developed several computer applications (Chemical Inventory, Worker Efficiency, Factory Attendance, Parts Shortages, Safety Program, etc.) using Microsoft Access and the Access Developers Toolkit. Have designed or initiated the design of several workstations to reduce worker injuries. Have conducted training session in ergonomics (material handling, work station design, seating evaluation, control/display design, noise stress, tool design, etc.) and safety (means of egress, fire safety, blood borne pathogens, hazard communication, etc.) in both the academic setting as well as the corporate environment. Conducted numerous hazard investigations to reduce or eliminate hazards in the workplace.
