Bethany Home Nursing Center

Company Profile

For the last six years, Bethany Nursing Center has been working diligently with the consultants from Georgia Tech to reduce the number of work related incidents. Bethany's goal is to provide each employee with a safe work environment. With the support of the Georgia Tech Safety and Health Consultation Program the company has been able to identify several areas that we could improve in concerning safety in the workplace. Since the implementation of the program Bethany has developed a more comprehensive plan to reduce the number of recordable incidents. Bethany has developed an active safety committee that meets regularly, which consists of management as well as all department employees' input. The committee is actively working to identify and assist in helping to correct potential hazards and to prevent accidents.

Bethany employees have worked hard to involve all departments and all employees in our safety program to ensure that we retain a safe workplace. Its goal is to eliminate all accidents although that may not be possible.

The Consultants at Georgia Tech have been a vital asset to Bethany in reaching the goals of the SHARP Program with their information and suggestions for making this a safer workplace.

Since 2003, Bethany has been able to reduce our recordable incidents from 21 down to eight in 2006, which us about a 62 percent reduction.

Bethany management has expressed its appreciation to its staff as well as the staff at Georgia Tech for making the nursing center one of the few to receive the SHARP designation in Georgia.
